We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented sole Housekeeper/Laundress to join our client's household team.

The ideal candidate will be flexible to provide the cleanliness and organisation in the home, ensuring a welcoming environment for the principal, their family, and guests.

This position requires a strong commitment to high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail for the smooth running of the household.

Comprehensive training will be provided to developing skills or experience in areas where the candidate may require additional expertise, ensuring they excel in their role.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and tidying of guest rooms, living areas, laundry room, entrance porches, appliances, ensuring all areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
• Change bed linens, towels, and other amenities as required.
• Dust surfaces, vacuum and mop floors, whilst ensuring surfaces are sanitised and well-maintained.  Using natural products as instructed.
• Deep cleaning, following the maintenance schedule and manual.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the principal promptly.
• Daily laundry duties, including washing, hand-washing, stain treatment, drying, ironing, folding, and putting away in their cupboards.  Following instructions on clothing labels and the laundry manual. 
• Wardrobe management, packing and unpacking suitcases.
• Cleaning and polishing boots and shoes.
• Answering the door and taking deliveries.
• Putting deliveries away.
• Ad hoc shopping/errands.
• Pet care (litter trays, feeding, occasional dog walking).
• Occasional help with food prep.
• Babysitting duties on occasion.
• Working as part of a team and liaising with the PA and other staff members.
• Provide excellent service by addressing principal and guest requests or concerns with professionalism and courtesy.
• Follow established cleaning, housekeeping, and laundry protocols.

Experience

• Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or care homes is essential.
• A background in delicate surface and fabric care will be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with natural cleaning products and cleaning equipment is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently as well as follow instructions. 
• The ability to maintain discretion and work seamlessly in a private family environment, ensuring a presence that is both professional and unobtrusive, is essential.

Hours

• Flexible hours to fit with candidate commitments 30-40 hrs/week (negotiable).
• Mostly Mon-Fri - the occasional Sat/Sun with advanced notice (negotiable).

Car parking is within the property gates.

Tea and coffee facilities and the use of microwave and fridge available.
