We are seeking an experienced Domestic Couple for a friendly, down-to-earth couple based in North London.

This is an opportunity to work with truly lovely clients who are in turn keen to find someone to work with them on a long-term basis. The residence has undergone renovation for the past 4 years and will be ready to move into this summer.

This is a large 4 storey house with 4 bedrooms, cinema, and living spaces. There is a summer house on site too, with a sauna, gym, and pool.

The Principals are very respectful and take good care of their staff – ensuring a very low turnover. They are ideally looking for a Couple who is keen to stay long-term. This can be a live-in role, with accommodation provided for the successful Couple.

The Principals have a second property on the South West coast, and the successful Couple may be required to travel there occasionally.

The Principals have a lovely Australian mini cockapoo. Therefore the Couple will be pet friendly.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• The residence is newly refurbished to a high specification and must be kept to an impeccable standard at all times so you must have previous experience working to a similar calibre within a private household
• The property is 8,000 sq ft, 4-storeys with separate summerhouse
• All general housekeeping duties and maintaining the home to a very high standard
• Handling delicate fabrics and ensuring proper care
• Execute specialist cleaning tasks with care, particularly for flooring, surfaces, antiques, etc
• Extensive experience with fine fabrics & specialised surfaces
• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and tidiness are maintained throughout the property
• Cleaning including dusting, hoovering, mopping, changing beds, cleaning bathrooms
• Demonstrate a delicate hand and meticulous attention to detail in all cleaning and organising tasks
• Management of all household laundry, including clothing, fine fabrics, linens etc
• Washing, drying, folding, and ironing clothes and linens
• Wardrobe management
• Food preparation
• Changing bed linen and towels
• Ensure the fridge is clean and regularly checked to ensure freshness of food items
• Deep and high-level cleaning
• Occasionally assisting when the family are entertaining
• Pet care when family are travelling (dog and cats)
• Flexibility to occasionally drive family members if required
• Flexibility to travel to Devon property if needed
• Occasional cooking, not a prerequisite
• Driving responsibilities, clean driving licence
• Upkeep of the grounds and house
• Management of contractors for repairs and upkeep
• Pool maintenance, a freshwater pool - training can be provided
• First point of call for deliveries
• Management of the house systems inc heating
• DIY and basic repairs

Candidate requirements:

• Prior housekeeping experience in a high-end private household, Chalets or yachts
• Excellent knowledge of cleaning products and care of fine fabrics and furniture
• Fluency in English preferred – spoken and written
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Hardworking and dedicated
• Energetic
• Self-starter with a friendly, positive attitude and a kind disposition
• High attention to detail
• Able to work independently as well as part of a team
• Trustworthy and reliable
• DBS checked or willingness to undertake one
• Own reliable transport and a valid UK driving licence
• Excellent checkable references

• No pets or children

Live-in or Live-out (negotiable) but must be London based if Live-out.

Accommodation: housed within the light-filled basement area with separate entrance, comprising a double bedroom with en-suite and in-built double wardrobe, almost private use of the formal catering kitchen that would only be used for entertaining (1-2 times a month), private light-filled living room, shared corridors around this area.

Working week: 5 days / week, 9.00am-5.30pm – flexibility to work some weekends with days off during the week in lieu

Salary: £70,000 per annum

Start Date: September
