Job Description: Live-in Domestic Couple – Hagley, Stourbridge

We are seeking a professional and experienced Live-in Domestic Couple to manage a newly renovated private residence on 19 acres in Hagley, Stourbridge.

This is a long-term position for a dedicated Couple who will take pride in maintaining the household to the highest standards while providing care and support to an elderly family member living nearby.

The property is predominately a weekend residence, so the role requires five days a week with weekend coverage as needed.  The family does bring guests on occasion, and the Couple will be responsible for preparing the home for these visits.

The family is warm and informal, valuing a relaxed atmosphere in their country home, but they do maintain high expectations for the care and management of the property.  Both principals have very demanding careers, and see this residence as a retreat that allows them to decompress from their demanding schedules and maintain a sense of balance.

The ideal Couple will be discreet, capable, and proactive in ensuring the home is always well-organised and welcoming, allowing the family to fully enjoy their time away from the city.

Key Responsibilities:

Housekeeping duties, not limited to:

• Full responsibility for all housekeeping duties to ensure the property is maintained to an impeccable standard
• Daily cleaning and tidying of all rooms, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living spaces
• Laundry, ironing, and maintaining household supplies
• Grocery shopping and ensuring the property is stocked for the family's weekend visits
• Meal preparation as required
• Using initiative to manage household tasks efficiently and proactively
• Occasional assistance with entertaining, including setting tables and serving
• Must be dog-friendly, and comfortable with pet care when required

Property Maintenance & Gardening duties, not limited to:

• Overseeing the general maintenance and upkeep of the property, ensuring all systems are functioning properly
• Performing minor repairs and coordinating contractors for larger maintenance tasks
• Supervising external Gardeners who attend 2/3 times a week
• General groundskeeping to ensure the exterior of the property is well-presented at all times
• Swimming pool care and upkeep
• Tennis court maintenance
• Vehicle Maintenance

Elderly Care Support (Shared Responsibility):

• Providing assistance to an elderly family member living on the same Road
• Taking her to medical appointments, social engagements, and other commitments
• Running errands, and providing companionship as needed
• Checking in regularly to ensure her wellbeing

Requirements:

• At least one individual must hold a full UK driving licence
• Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal) are preferred
• Previous experience in a similar Live-in Domestic Couple role is highly desirable
• Strong housekeeping skills with attention to detail, understanding how to care for different materials
• Property maintenance and gardening knowledge
• Compassionate, patient, and respectful when assisting with elderly care
• Must be comfortable with dogs, and willing to assist with pet care
• Discreet, professional, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times

Ideal Candidates:

The ideal Couple will be proactive, self-motivated, and have a hands-on approach to managing a private household.  They should take pride in their work, ensuring the home is always immaculate and running smoothly.  Discretion, loyalty, and a caring attitude are essential for this role, particularly with the aspect of providing care to the elderly family member.  The candidates must be comfortable around pets, and willing to assist with the family’s dog as needed.

Salary: £70,000-£80,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Accommodation: TBD - Fully furnished three-bedroom house, 10-minute drive from the main property or flat on premises

Start Date:  March / April – will wait for the right Couple
