Our client based in Berlin is seeking a Live-out Housekeeper/Cook who is happy to help with occasional childcare (baby due in Oct 2024).

The family consists of 2 adults, a baby due in October, and their whippet dog.

The property is a beautiful Villa with 4 Bedrooms, 5 Bathrooms - however, they are a small household, so the majority of the rooms are not used on a daily/weekly basis.

We are looking for someone to help maintain the client's household by taking care of cleaning, laundry, food shopping, light cooking, and occasional dog watching during the day. They will also need assistance with childcare, so the ideal candidate should have the right qualifications and background.

While Mum will primarily take care of the baby, the client would like someone who can also become a part of their family and help care for the baby for a few hours each day whilst Mum is working or attending appointments, as well as for babysitting and occasional weekend support.

The family don't need a full-time Housekeeper for cleaning, but between childcare and housework, they can offer a full-time position.  However, you should be flexible with evening and weekend work.

The family can provide a separate live-in space in their basement with a private en-suite, and access to the home gym and sauna when working in the evenings or overnight.

The individual must be highly discreet & trustworthy, as well as happy to work on rota, travel, and work up to 2 weekends per month

Duties would include the following:

  • General household cleaning to include dusting, vacuuming, and polishing
  • Laundry, washing and ironing clothing, sheets, and blankets - care for high-end clothing such as silk and wool clothing; be able to take clothing to dry-cleaners if needed
  • Clear rubbish and waste paper bins
  • Clean bathrooms, basin and lavatories
  • Washing/scrubbing tiled surfaces
  • Ironing shirts, sheets, and anything else required
  • Make sure all surfaces are dusted including window frames and skirting boards
  • Keep everything stocked up - eg cleaning products, toilet paper, toothpaste etc
  • Weekly/Bi-Weekly food shopping
  • Make sure cupboards are kept neat and tidy
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept clean such as oven, hobs, fridge, and dishwashers
  • Beds and linens changed regularly
  • Mirrors and glass surfaces kept clean
  • Ensure wardrobes and drawers are kept neat and tidy
  • Clean and polish silverware regularly (where relevant)
  • Watering household plants
  • Cleaning inside of the windows
  • Deep-cleaning/maintaining items such as the washing machine, tumble dryer etc
  • Feed and walk Agatha, the client's dog, when needed
  • Leave the house to perform errands for the employer
  • Take children to and from school (when of age)
  • Look after children when they are in the home & therefore have experience working with babies/small children
  • If no first aid training etc, be willing to take classes (paid for by the client)
  • Agree menus with the principal on a daily or weekly basis, and plan and prepare meals
  • Lay and serve a table
  • Set the security alarm on the house
  • Assist when there is a large dinner party or event at the house
  • Answer the door, take messages, and handle deliveries
  • Happy to work on rota, travel, and work up to 2 weekends per month
  • Be willing to babysit in the evenings (on occasions overnight) and on weekends
  • Be willing to go on trips/holiday with us on rare occasions OR potentially house & dog sit
  • Advise employers of any domestic repairs or replacements that require attention

Salary: €3,000-€4,000+ per month (depending on the qualifications and background)
Holiday allowance: 25-30 Days
